Richmond Primary School has been a buzz with Olympic fever! Not only are we enjoying watching the athletes in Beijing competing, we are also enjoying our very own games. In the lead up to the games, children have been involved in making the flags of a country which they will compete for during the games. Last weeks opening ceremony was full of anticipation for the upcoming events in Skipping, Ten Pin Bowling, Discus, Shot Put and Distance Run.
Children will compete in a total of 3 chosen events and gold, silver and bronze medal winners are announced in a daily medal ceremony.
Good Luck to all competitors!!
In other news around the school, preparation for the Grade 6 play is in full swing with daily rehearsals, costume organisation and lots of hard work from both students and staff. Play dates are September 3rd, 4th and 5th and tickets will be available soon.
Also, Grade 5/6E & 5/6K, 3/4T & 3/4R, 2N & 1/2K have all enjoyed interesting, engaging excursions to the Chinese Cultural Museum in Chinatown.
