The philosophy of the OSHC Program is:
To provide primary school-aged childcare for the Richmond Primary School community which is community-based, flexible and meets need for children to be cared for in a creative, stimulating, safe and secure environment after school.
We aim to provide a caring, challenging and safe environment where children are able to participate in planned experiences whilst developing socially, emotionally and intellectually.
Our program fosters children's individuality, recognizes individual needs and promotes the physical health and well being of all children
We expect children to respect people and property. Parents/Caregivers, staff and volunteers will be encouraged to participate in decision making. We acknowledge and are sensitive to the cultural backgrounds of families.

The Children's Program
The OSCH Program will offer a planned, flexible and balanced Service that will respond to children's interests, needs and stages of development.
Before School Care is open from 7.45 to 8.45am every morning of the school term. A parent or caregiver must sign in the children. A very informal program is offered in the morning with simple activities and quick games. At 8.45 children are allowed to go out into the playground where a yard duty teacher will be supervising.
After School Care commences at 3.30pm. A staff member signs children in as they line up. As children arrive they wash or sanitize their hands and may choose to have informal afternoon tea, which is offered till 4.15pm and are free to participate in organised activities or free play. A second snack is offered at 5.15pm. Some options and clubs to choose from include:
